Description

This is a mini CNC machine that uses Dremel rotary tool. It is assembled from Mini CNC and Electronics & Motors subsets of Contraptor.

  • Axis travel:
    • X (left-right): 6" or ~15cm
    • Y (front-back): 8" or ~20cm
    • Z (up-down): 2" or ~5cm
  • Feedrate
    • 15 IPM or ~6 mm/s (all-thread rods with flywheels)
    • 10 IPM or ~4 mm/s (all-thread rods w/o flywheels)
  • Accuracy: estimated 0.01" or ~ 0.25mm
  • Assembly time: 6-8 hrs

Issues

  • Higher feedrates (20 IPM) are unreliable
  • Needs vacuum system for removal of chips/swarf
