Mini CNC v1
Description
This is a mini CNC machine that uses Dremel rotary tool. It is assembled from Mini CNC and Electronics & Motors subsets of Contraptor.
- Axis travel:
- X (left-right): 6" or ~15cm
- Y (front-back): 8" or ~20cm
- Z (up-down): 2" or ~5cm
- Feedrate
- 15 IPM or ~6 mm/s (all-thread rods with flywheels)
- 10 IPM or ~4 mm/s (all-thread rods w/o flywheels)
- Accuracy: estimated 0.01" or ~ 0.25mm
- Assembly time: 6-8 hrs
Issues
- Higher feedrates (20 IPM) are unreliable
- Needs vacuum system for removal of chips/swarf

Assembly
Tools
The following tools are recommended to assemble mini CNC (list may be incomplete):
- Hex or Allen keys (imperial from 1/16" to 1/8")
- Combination wrench (imperial 3/8" and 7/16")
- Hex socket (imperial 3/8")
- Needle nose pliers
- Screwdriver (phillips)
- Small screwdriver (flat)
- Try square or equivalent tool
- Measuring tape
